The attorney for Barren County Sheriff Chris Eaton says a federal indictment is "unjustified" and no one used physical force on 30 year old Billy Stinnett after deputies handcuffed him.
Lawyer Guthrie True of Frankfort is representing Eaton. True told the Associated Press Thursday that the US Justice Department appeared to be "headstrong" about charging his client with a crime related to Stinnett's arrest on February 24, 2010.
Bowling Green, Ky – America is remembering the life of former First Lady Betty Ford, who passed away Friday at the age of 93. A Glasgow surgeon has a unique connection to Mrs. Ford. Dr. William Thistlethwaite of TJ Sampson Hospital is the son of James Thistlethwaite, who diagnosed Mrs. Ford's breast cancer and assisted in her subsequent surgery. William spoke to WKU Public Radio about his father's role in helping Mrs. Ford, and the impact of her advocacy on behalf of women's health issues.
Glasgow, Ky – Donna and Tony Morgan of Barren County have been on a mission ever since tragedy struck their family in 2005. That's the year their 6 year old daughter, Maddie, died suddenly of Pulmonary Veno Occlusive Disease, or "PVOD". Since then, the Morgans have set out to educate the public--and just as importantly, the medical community--about the rare disease. Glasgow, Ky – Shoppers at a Glasgow farmer's market have an unusual meat option: locally raised buffalo. Kim and Bev Braun run Buffalo Nickel Ranch, their 20 acre farm in Glasgow. Currently home to 26 bison, the ranch provides several cuts of buffalo meat, which is popular with some consumers because it's much healthier than beef. Glasgow, Ky – Many restaurants in the region--and nation--have been trying to survive during a time of decreased consumer spending. One such place is Sorrento Italian restaurant in Glasgow. It opened in May of 2008, right when the full impact of the recession was being felt in consumers' pocketbooks. Sorrento owner Dawn Purvis says to make it in the restaurant business, you have to be willing to do a little bit of everything--even wash dishes. Kevin Willis has our report.
