A western Kentucky utility says it’s withdrawing a pollution-control plan after an E.P.A rule was struck down in court this week. The Henderson-based Big Rivers Electric Cooperative says it will save customers about $225 million by dropping the plan.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says northbound traffic on the U.S. 41 Twin Bridges will be restricted to one lane, starting Monday, August 6th. A detailed inspection will be conducted on the northbound bridge structure, and engineers are expected to use a Snooper Truck to access the deck substructure on the bridge.
The Kentucky Public Service Commission has scheduled public hearings for next month in Henderson and Paducah to get input on a proposal that would raise rates for customers of Big Rivers Electric Corp.
Motorists traveling between Henderson and Evansville, Ind., on the U.S. 41 Twin Bridges will encounter some lane restrictions this week. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane on Monday and Tuesday for deck cleaning and maintenance.
