Conservative Kentucky Group Launching PAC

A new conservative think tank in Kentucky is expanding its political influence outside of its usual lobbying efforts. The Commonwealth Policy Center is a fiscally and socially conservative group. Now, the group has launched a sister political action committee, the Commonwealth Policy PAC, to influence elections.

Counties Along Green River, Lake Cumberland Especially Hard Hit by Drought

What a difference a year makes. Last year was the wettest on record across Kentucky going back to 1895. Many areas of the commonwealth that experienced widespread flooding last year are now in drought.

Slain Guidance Counselor/Dance Coach Remembered as Role Model for Youth

A candlelight vigil was held Tuesday night at Henderson County High School in honor of Michelle Cotter. She was found shot in her Henderson home early Tuesday morning and later died at Methodist Hospital. Her husband, Steven Cotter, was found inside the home with a gun and was taken into custody.

Autopsy Scheduled for Henderson Guidance Counselor/Dance Team Coach Found Shot in Home

Autopsy results are pending in the shooting death of a woman who served as a guidance counselor and dance team coach in the Daviess and Henderson County Public School systems. Medical examiners were scheduled to perform an autopsy late Tuesday in Louisville on Michelle Cotter, the 39 year old who was found dead in her home early Tuesday morning.

Funeral Set for Tuesday for Kentucky Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

The Associated Press reports funeral services will be held this week for a U.S. Army soldier from Dixon, who was killed recently in Afghanistan.  Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home Director Jerel Schneider says Spc. David W. Taylor will be buried in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson on Tuesday.
