Former Indiana Secretary of State Sentenced

After a 14-month legal battle, former Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White has been sentenced to one year of home detention. Superior Court Judge Steven Nation ruled White intentionally defrauded the public by using his ex-wife's address to vote in the May 2010 primary and continuing to take his town council salary after he had moved out of the district.

Indiana's Governor Maintains He Won't Run for White House

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels is once again brushing aside efforts by some to get him to enter the Republican Presidential contest. The online political journal Politico reports that some in the Republican Party are growing so concerned about the nominating process and the current crop of candidates that they’re looking for a late-entry nominee.

Indiana Republican Party Chairman Eric Holcomb is quoted by Politico as saying “the whispers have becomes shouts” and that the knocks on Daniels’ door “have become fist pounding.”

Southern Indiana to Get 400 New Toyota Manufacturing Jobs

Americans have grown used to hearing about U-S jobs being shipped overseas. Now, one of the biggest names in global auto manufacturing is moving jobs from Japan to Indiana.

Toyota Motor Corporation is shifting producing of its Highlander sport-utility vehicle from Japan to its plant in Princeton, Indiana. Toyota plans to invest 400-million dollars to expand the Gibson County factory, and add 400 new jobs.
