He now travels the country speaking against the death penalty and was a guest on WKU Public Radio's "Morning Edition" this morning to talk about his trial, his more than 6,000 days behind bars, and his life since he regained his freedom.
A south-central Kentucky grand jury has added rape to the charges facing a man accused of killing a pregnant runner in June. Kentucky State Police said Wednesday that a Russell County grand jury indicted 28-year-old Christopher W. Allman. He was charged earlier with murder, fetal homicide, kidnapping, robbery and tampering with physical evidence in the June 14 death of 31-year-old Sarah B. Hart.
A Russell County woman who was killed while out for a run was in the thoughts of people who gathered for the Bluegrass 10,000 race awards ceremony in Lexington. The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that members of Sarah Hart's family were at the ceremony Wednesday.
Police in Bowling Green have charged a man with with murder in the stabbing death of a man whose body was found in the street of a residential neighborhood.
Police arrested 24 year old Stephan Thomas on Saturday after the stabbing near Veterans Memorial Boulevard. Witnesses reportedly led police to an apartment where Thomas was arrested. The body of 21 year old Tyrese Huffman was found by officers responding to a 911 call around 2:45 a.m. Bowling Green police sat Huffman was stabbed in the neck.
