Work on a nearly $3 million terminal expansion and renovation at Owensboro's airport is almost complete. Airport Manager Bob Whitmer tells The Messenger-Inquirer the project will resolve overcrowding and give the terminal a modern look.

An Owensboro man has been sentenced to eight years in prison and ordered to pay $1.6 million in restitution for a scheme to defraud investors in three states. The U.S. attorney's office said Chief U.S. Judge Joseph H. McKinley Jr. has also ordered 28-year-old Cory B. George to forfeit contents of three bank accounts totaling about $484,000 to be applied toward final restitution.

The Owensboro Messenger-Inquirier is reporting the death of a local radio personality who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Joe Lowe spent the final months of his life advocating for more Kentuckians to get cancer screenings.
