Parts of southern and western Kentucky have nearly exhausted the 270 area code and are in line for an additional one. The Kentucky Public Service Commission is weighing a request to make the next area code available to all new phone customers throughout the region, rather than to apply it geographically.

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close the eastbound Audubon Parkway Ramp Overpass to US 60 westbound at Owensboro at 7:00 p.m Friday evening. This ramp overpass closure at the Audubon Parkway Exit 24 Interchange with US 60 is for a deck rehab and overlay project.
A blood center serving six hospitals in our region is putting out the word for type A Negative blood donations. The Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center works with hospitals in Breckinridge, Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Daviess, and Ohio counties.
The price tag for a new downtown convention center in Owensboro now stands at nearly $40 million. The city-county organization overseeing the construction effort has approved the use of $3.5 million in contingency funds for the project.
