The Public Service Commission says work crews have significantly reduced the number of power outages in Kentucky, following Friday's devastating tornado outbreak. It is now estimated that there are just over 1400 outages in the Commonwealth. Many of the continuing outages are reported in Morgan and Menifee counties. The numbers don't include individuals who have had their electric lines repaired, but who cannot have service reconnected because of damage to their home.
The Public Service Commission's final power outage report for Monday estimates there are still more than 56 hundred power outages in Kentucky. In addition to outages caused by severe weather last week, heavy snowfall in some counties led to outages this morning.
