McConnell to Speak at Tea Party Rally for First Time, Paul Will Also Attend

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is addressing a tea party group in a few weeks in Frankfort in what activists say is a first. Tea party activist David Adams told the Lexington Herald-Leader that McConnell hasn't spoken to a tea party group before and he thinks it shows the party's growing strength.

U-S Senator Rand Paul wants to delay the Senate Confirmation of Army Lt.General Thomas Bostick to become the Corp's Commanding General. The lawmaker from Bowling Green is unhappy with the Corp's performance in the Bluegrass State. Repairs on the Wolf Creek Dam, which impounds Lake Cumberland, have taken longer and cost more than expected. That project carries a price tag of  more than a half billion dollars.

Rand Paul's PAC Not Raking in Big Dollars--at Least Not Yet

After more than a year in office, U.S. Senator Rand Paul is having trouble turning his political action committee into a fundraising powerhouse.

The PAC, named RANDPAC, has less than $100,000 in the bank.

Among its donors are former high-ranking GOP officials Cathy Bailey and Hunter Bates. The committee has also drawn donations from PACs that belong to UPS, Brown-Forman and other Kentucky companies.

And Kentucky’s senior senator Mitch McConnell gave $5,000 from his Bluegrass Committee PAC.
