WKU Professor Develops Comic Book Series to Teach Math

Bowling Green, KY – When he was in elementary school, Dr. Bruce Kessler loved comic books. The Assistant Dean of WKU's Ogden College of Science and Engineering believes that carefully written comic books can now be used to teach some basic math principles to students in the fourth through sixth grades. Kentucky Legislature Called Into Special Session

Frankfort, KY – After a successful maneuver led by Kentucky Senate Republican to end the general assembly session early, Democratic governor Steve Beshear has called a special session to deal with the multi-million dollar gap in the Medicaid budget. Colon Cancer Prevention Organizations Call on the Public to Wear Blue

Bowling Green, KY – Experts in the field say colon cancer is one of the most deadly....and one of the most preventable forms of cancer. Regular colon cancer screenings can frequently

Historians Say Lincoln's Inaugural Address is Still Timely

Bowling Green, KY – Two WKU historians say the remarks Abraham Lincoln delivered in his first inaugural address "resonate" today. Friday March 4th marks the 150th Anniversary of Lincoln's first inaugural address, which dealt with the theme of "civility." Dr. Glen LaFantasie and Dr. Jack Thacker of the WKU History Department say many of the remarks Lincoln made in an attempt to hold the country together are especially interesting in the context of today's political dialogue.
