Bowling Green, Ky – A spokesman for Bowling Green Municipal Utilities told WKU Public Radio Wednesday that only 20-25 customers were still without power. Miles McDaniel said BGMU crews worked overnight to restore power to residents. Falling trees and limbs knocked down power lines throughout the BGMU service region Tuesday.
Bowling Green, Ky – A former US Representative from southern Indiana believes it would be a mistake to close the terrorist detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. John Hostettler toured the prison in 2005 as a member of the House Armed Services Committee. President Obama recently signed an executive order that calls for the facility to be closed. Hostettler spoke with WKU Public Radio's Lisa Autry.
Bowling Green, Ky – Kentucky Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo says he'll run for the US Senate seat currently held by Republican Jim Bunning. In 2004, Mongiardo barely lost to Bunning in what virtually every analyst thought would be a cakewalk for the Republican. Lt. Gov. Mongiardo spoke to WKU Public Radio's Lisa Autry about his decision.
