Frankfort, Kentucky – A Judge's decision means only parts of Tina Conner's lawsuit against Governor Paul Patton can proceed. Yesterday, a Franklin Circuit Judge dismissed most of a lawsuit that accused Patton of retaliating against Conner for ending their affair.
The Judge exempted State Government as a defendant in the suit and dismisssed allegations that Patton sexually harrassed Conner and wasted state resources. But, the Judge left intact Conner's claims that Patton caused her emotional distress and acted outrageously.
Frankfort, Kentucky – As many as 500 state inmates being held in local jails will probably get an early release. Governor Paul Patton says the measure is necessary as the state tries to cope with its budget problems. The releases could come "pretty soon". Patton asked the Corrections Department to give him a list by Friday of inmates targeted for release.
Elizabethtown, Kentucky – Architects have unveiled plans for a 9.4 million dollar Elizabethtown Police Department building. Councilman Ron Thomas says the figure startled him. The figure includes 5.1 million dollars in construction costs for a 6,600 square-foot building and 1.2 million for development costs including parking lots and landscaping. The firm making the estimate says some of the costs could be trimmed -- maybe 100,000 dollars from the renovation costs of the building's garage.
