Frankfort – The Speaker of the Kentucky House of Representatives says it is unlikely the General Assembly would approve an expansion of gambling activity in the state. Speaker Jody Richards warns that residents of the Commonwealth should be wary of attempts to bring casinos or slot machines into Kentucky. The Bowling Green Democrat told Western's Public Radio that it is possible members of the General Assembly would approve a constitutional amendment measure, to allow "the people of Kentucky" to decide the question.
Nashville – Authorities in Tennessee say the 42 year old son of a woman killed in last weekend's tornadoes has also died as a result of the storm. Neal Forsythe died at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Officials say he had been in intensive care since the weekend. Forsythe's mother was found dead under a mobile home in Carroll County, Tennessee.
Louisville – Acting University of Louisville President Jim Ramsey is the unanimous choice of a Presidential Search Committee at U of L. Dr. Ramsey currently serves as the State Budget Director, in addition to his duties as Acting President at Louisville. The Western Kentucky University graduate is a former Economics professor and Vice-President at WKU.
