A federal judge in Nashville will allow opponents of a Murfreesboro mosque to have a say in the religious freedom case involving the building. Judge Kevin Sharp on Wednesday ruled that the group of neighbors has a legitimate interest in the case.
The Islamic Center of Murfreesboro has received its final approval after a nearly two-year legal battle to prevent it from opening. Islamic Center board chairman Essam Fathy said he was relieved and happy the mosque has its permanent occupancy permit.
