Some Tennessee legislators are irate following revelations that state parole officials claimed they were supervising felons who later turned out to be dead. Two of those parole officers were not arrested after they were caught falsifying some of those dead felons’ files.

A judge in Nashville has held Tennessee's voter identification statute constitutional. The Tennessean reported the ruling by Davidson County Chancery Court Judge Carol McCoy. After about three hours of oral arguments Wednesday, McCoy ruled against civil rights attorney George Barrett, who contended the state constitution requires only proof of legal age, residency and registration.
Three major airlines have announced additional flights to the Nashville International Airport with new routes to Boston, Cleveland and Los Angeles. The airport said Southwest Airlines is adding another daily nonstop flight to Boston Logan starting in February. United Airlines is adding two daily nonstop flights to Nashville from its Cleveland hub starting on Dec. 19.
