Storms High winds http://wkyufm.org en Early Morning Storms Hit Kentucky, Little Damage http://wkyufm.org/post/early-morning-storms-hit-kentucky-little-damage <p>Strong storms swept through the Kentucky and Tennessee overnight and early this morning sparking dozens of severe weather watches and warnings but leaving minimal damage.</p><p>Emergency management officials in central Kentucky say two people were injured when winds blew a mobile home off its foundation near Campbellsville as a storm blew through the state.</p><p>Marion County Emergency Management Director Hayden Johnson says a 32-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy were treated for minor injuries early Wednesday, but no other damage or injuries were reported in the central Kentucky county.</p><p>Buddy Rogers with the Kentucky Emergency Management System says McCreary County reported several trees down and 1,000 people without power.</p><p>Warren RECC says strong, straight-line winds caused damage and power outages throughout their eight county area beginning about 2:00 a.m. At one point, as many as 5,000 members were without power but that number was reduced to just over 1,000 by 7:00 a.m. mostly in the Oakland, Smiths Grove and Park City areas.</p><p>Reports from the National Weather Service concerned mostly downed trees and power lines and debris over roadways.
