The Northern Kentucky Health Department is urging area residents to consider vaccinations for infants and booster shots for older children and adults who spend time around infants. The Department says the increasing number of whooping cough cases reported recently is a reason to be concerned.
Both ferries at Mammoth Cave National Park have been closed. Park officials say the move was caused by low water levels in the Green River. Service at the Green River Ferry and Houchin Ferry will resume when water levels rise enough to make operating the vessels safe.
The leader of an infantry brigade combat team stationed at Fort Knox is relinquishing command of the brigade at a ceremony tomorrow morning. But he’s not going far.
In fact, Col. Chris Toner is going from one Kentucky military installation to another.
The Kansas native has led the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division for the past three years. He was responsible for helping move the Brigade from Fort Hood, Texas to Fort Knox after the Brigade’s first deployment to Afghanistan.
