The Owensboro Messenger-Inquirier is reporting the death of a local radio personality who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Joe Lowe spent the final months of his life advocating for more Kentuckians to get cancer screenings.

Courier-Journal political writer James R. Carroll says Danville, Kentucky and Centre College have been universally praised for the outstanding job they did hosting the recent Vice-Presidential debate. It's not often the Bluegrass State gets to share in the limelight of a hotly-contested Presidential election, but Centre's ability to land its second VP debate since 2000 has impressed politicos throughout the nation.

They may not be household names like Jim Beam or Wild Turkey, but Kentucky's craft bourbon distilleries now have their own tourist trail. One of the stops on the list—Corsair Artisan Distillery--is found in downtown Bowling Green.

WKU fell behind early, but rallied to win at Troy Thursday night to extend their winning streak to four. The Hilltoppers' 31-26 win came despite trailing by ten in the first quarter, several lost fumbles, and numerous penalties.

The WKU Hilltopper football team hopes to break a bad streak of luck at Troy's Veterans Memorial Stadium. WKU is winless in its first four games there, dropping its last contest at Troy in November of 2010.
