Bowling Green Commission OK's Controversial Mens' Recovery Center

The Bowling Green city commission Tuesday night passed the first reading of a bill allowing a mens' alcoholic and drug recovery center to open near a home for victims of domestic violence.

WBKO-TV reports the unanimous vote would allow the center near BRASS and a daycare center.

Opponents were concerned about the number of different homes and places that aren't compatible with each other. It was just the first reading and it will not officially pass unless and until the city commission approves the second reading.

If approved then, opponents would still have the chance to appeal in warren Circuit Court.
