Butler County Guardsman Killed In Iraq

By AP

Morgantown, KY – The Deputy Adjutant General for the Kentucky National Guard says this week's death of a Kentucky soldier from Butler County will not deter Guard members from completing their mission.
General Norman Arflack says more than 1,100 Kentucky Guard members are currently in Iraq.
Specialist Michael Hayes of Morgantown in Butler County was killed Tuesday near Baghdad. He was a Bowling Green native who coached the girls soccer team at Butler County High School after attending Western Kentucky University.
Governor Fletcher's ordered flags to be flown at half-staff across the state until sunset on the day of Hayes' funeral.
Hayes was a 29 year old veteran of more than 100 missions.
