Burlington, KY – The man who requested a death sentence for killing two children in Gallatin County in 2002 got his wish Tuesday.
Marco Chapman was sentenced to death by Boone County judge Tony frolich.
Chapman had pleaded guilty last week to the murders of two children...6 year old Cody Sharon and 7 year old Chelbi Sharon.
Their mother, Carolyn Marksberry, testified at the hearing. She called Chapman a monster and showed family poictures of the children in the courtroom.
Marksberry and her oldest daughter, 12 year old Courtney Sharon, survived the August 2002 attacks.
The Kentucky Supreme Court will automatically review Chapman's case. Chapman says he does not want to appeal the plea or sentence.
