Corvette Motorsports Park Lands First Major Sponsor

Lisa Autry

A global tire manufacturer has become the first official sponsor of the Motorsports Park at the National Corvette Museum.

In a news conference Friday, Michelin was announced as the official tire of the park, which is under construction in Bowling Green.

"We're building a world class-type facility for recreational motor sports, and to have a brand like Michelin, which is world-renowned for high performance, quality products, it's just a natural fit," said Mitch Wright, General Manager of the Motorsports Park.

The Motorsports Park features a three-mile road course on nearly 200 acres just across the highway from the Corvette Museum.

Wright says paving of the track will begin in mid-May and the first racing event is scheduled at the end of September.
