Investigators say alcohol may have been a contributing factor in an early-morning crash Monday on Kentucky 90 in Cumberland County.
Kentucky State Police say 30-year-old April Thompson of Burkesville, who was driving a Chevy van, crossed the center line and hit a semi-truck head-on. Thompson died at the scene.
The 18-wheeler was being driven by Robert Nissley on Monticello. The semi actually wound up in a ditch as Nissley tried to avoid the collision. He, along with two teenagers in the truck, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
