Drought Conditions Returning To State

By AP

Lexington, KY – The leftovers from Hurricane Dennis pulled Kentucky out of a drought, but now the state is back into bone-dry conditions.
The bluegrass area continues in moderate hydrologic drought, while UK's Tom Priddy says the rest of the state is in the first stages of more drought conditions. There's no rain in the forecast this week until a slight chance on Friday.
Rainfall totals needed above normal to end the hydrological drought are 9/10" in Western Kentucky, 1.32" in cnetral counties, just over 4" in the bluegrass area and .09" in the east.
