Federal agents served a search warrant Thursday on the office of a South Central Kentucky sheriff awaiting trial on charges of civil rights violations. Barren County Sheriff Chris Eaton and Public Information Officer Trevor Phillips told the Glasgow Daily Times that federal agents went to Phillip's home as well as the sheriff's office, but neither could comment further on the visits.
Eaton and two deputies have pleaded not guilty to using excessive force on Billy Randall Stinnett after he was arrested in 2010, and to charges of falsifying documents and lying to federal investigaors about the case.
Eaton's attorney J. Guthrie True said he was looking into harassment or other action that could be taken.
