Frankfort, KY – Governor Fletcher will undergo a procedure to remove a gallstone embedded in a pancreatic duct.
Fletcher spokesman Brett Hall says the Governor is expected to be under general anesthesia. During that time, Hall says there will be a temporary transfer of power from the Governor the Lieutenant Governor Steve Pence.
The 53 year old Fletcher was taken to St. Joseph East in lexington Sunday and underwent an ultrasound Monday morning.
