Ft. Campbell Soldiers Get Official Word of Next Deployment

The Department of Defense has announced four units--including two from Ft. Campbell, Ky--will deploy to Afghanistan this year. The scheduled rotation involves more than 11,000 soldiers from the four units that will start deploying between spring and winter.

Nearly 3,000 soldiers from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team and nearly 2,600 soldiers from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, both from Ft. Campbell's 101st Airborne Division, will deploy in the fall.

The remaining soldiers will come from Ft. Riley, Kansas, and Ft. Stewart, Georgia.
