Ft. Campbell Soldiers Learning about Eid al-Fitr
Fort Campbell soldiers preparing for upcoming deployments to Afghanistan will be learning about the Islamic holiday, which marks the end of Ramadan.Thousands of troops from the Kentucky post will be returning to Afghanistan this year for another deployment.
On Wednesday, instructors from the Defense Language Institute, who teach U.S. troops the Afghan languages of Pashto and Dari, will teach the soldiers about the holiday, and they will have a traditional meal, dancing and a rugby game.
Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting, ends with the three-day holiday of Eid al-Fitr.
