Hurricane Sandy Gives Eastern Kentucky Students Another Day Off

The early snowfall is compliments of Hurricane Sandy on the east coast. In Pike County, it's a first for the school system's personnel director Ralph Kilgore."I've never seen this happen in my lifetime. Since I've been in the school system, I cannot remember calling school off in October for snow," says Kilgore.

About six inches of snow fell near the Pike County-Virginia line. Kilgore says school buses in that area run approximately 14,000 miles a day over different types of terrain.
