The closure of I-65 northbound lanes at mile marker 55, at the Hart-Barren County line, is expected to continue for at least another 3-4 hours. A tractor trailer accident caused the closure. Traffic is being detoured off of the interstate at Exit 53 (Cave City). Motorists can take US 31W north to rejoin the interstate at Exit 58 (Horse Cave) via KY 218. However, traffic is reportedly backed up several miles on 31W.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports that Interstate 65 Northbound is closed at Mile Point 55, near the Hart/Barren County line due to a commercial vehicle crash. Traffic is being detoured off of the interstate at Exit 53 (Cave City). Motorists can take US 31W north to rejoin the interstate at Exit 58 (Horse Cave) via KY 218. A tractor trailer load of strawberries has overturned. Cleanup of the cargo and removal of the vehicle is expected to take approximately three hours, and conclude around 8pm central time.
