Judge Seals Witness List in Conner Case

By AP

Frankfort,KY – A judge has sealed a witness list in the mail-fraud
trial of Tina Conner. The former nursing home
operator is also the former mistress of Kentucky
Governor Paul Patton.

Conner was indicted in July on one count of mail
fraud, alleging she falsified an application for a
construction company she owned. Conner allegedly
falsified the document to be certified by the state as
a "disadvantaged" business.

Conner's attorney, Thomas Clay, is declining to say
whether Governor Paul Patton's name is on the
witness list. Clay cited an order by U-S District
Judge Joseph Hood in declining comment.

In the past, Clay has said that he planned to call
Patton as a witness at the trial, which is scheduled
to begin next week in Frankfort.
