Judge Wants Medicaid Issue Resolved This Week

By AP

Lexington.KY – A Federal Judge is giving State Medicaid officials
and advocates for the disabled until the end of the
week to resolve the remaining issues in a class action
lawsuit. The suit relates to stricter Medicaid eligibility
rules.

U-S District Judge Joseph Hood says any disputes
need to be ironed out by Friday. Last month, Hood
issued an order giving the Medicaid program 15 days
to reinstate nursing home or in-home care for anyone
whose care was cut off under changes implemented
last year by Governor Patton.

About 3,500 people in the state were affected by the
change in the program.
