Kentucky High School Soccer Coach Killed in Auto Accident

A Louisville high school coach and English teacher has died in a car wreck in Spencer County. Kentucky State Police say Brian Walters of Fisherville dropped off the right shoulder of Kentucky 1319 shortly before 7 a.m. EDT Monday, overcorrected, crossed back over the highway and was hit by a pickup truck.

The Courier-Journal reports Walters was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was in stable condition at University of Louisville Hospital.

Walters was in his second season as the girls' soccer coach at Ballard High School, which was scheduled to play Sacred Heart on Monday in the quarterfinals of the Seventh Region Tournament. The game was postponed.

Walters also taught English at Bullitt East High School.
