Kentucky Lottery Warns of Scams

Frankfort, KY – The Kentucky lottery and the state attorney general's consumer protection division report several scams are being pulled off in the state.
They'r being described as "too good to be true" offers. Foreign lotteries and Nigerian money scams are two of the most common to find their way into the state.
In each lottery case, the operator contacts victims through the mail or email telling them they've won millions of dollars through a foreign lottery
Then comes the request for "up front money" to process the prize or for sensitive bank account information so funds can be wired to the winner.
Officials say they're all fake and don't fall for it.
