Washington, D. C. – There were no surprises as Kentucky Republican Senators Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning praised President Bush's nomination to the U. S. Supreme Court.
The two senators had already voted in 2003 to confirm Judge John Roberts, Jr. to a seat on the U. S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia circuit.
The 50 year old Roberts must be approved by the U.S. senate in order to replace retired Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. McConnell and Bunning both expressed their full support of Roberts
