Legislature Begins Final Week

By AP

Frankfort, KY – With no time left to challenge the Governor's line-item vetoes, you might think lawmakers would find themselves at a disadvantage this last week of the legislative session.
But Governor Fletcher has said he's been briefed on parts of the budget proposal and doesn't know of anything he would like to veto.
Fletcher has supported many of the known budget initiatives, including $50 million to buy classroom computers and a proposal to increase salaries of teachers by about $4,100 over the next two years.
That's intended to move Kentucky teachers toward pay equity with their counterparts in adjoining states.
