A Look at Kentucky's Registered Voters: Mostly Female and Democrat

A record breaking number of voters are registered to cast ballots in Kentucky’s May 22nd Presidential Primary.  The total number of eligible voters outdistances the previous mark by more than 35,000. The Secretary of State’s office says the vast majority of new voters registered when they got a driver’s license.

Grimes says 53% of the electorate is female.

Democrats comprise 55% of voters, but the biggest gains have come in the GOP, which claims over a third of registered voters.

Lundergan-Grimes says it’s still too soon to make any predictions about voter turnout for this month’s primary.
