Murray State Regents Chair Claims Partisan Politics Kept Him from Nominating List

By AP

Murray, KY – Murray State University Board of Regents Chairman Sid Easley says
partisan politics kept him from being considered for an education
post. Easley says that is why he was left off a list of regents
candidates nominated by Governor Fletcher's Postsecondary
Education Nominating Committee.

Fletcher, who is a Republican, is expected to name replacements
soon for Easley and Wells Lovett of Owensboro, another veteran
member of the board. Lovett did not seek reappointment.

The terms of the two Regents expire on June 30th. The Board of
Regents at Murray is scheduled to meet in regular session
tomorrow.
