November is College Application Month in Kentucky

State officials are calling high school students' attention to their futures with this month designated College Application Month in Kentucky. Gov. Steve Beshear, lawmakers and education officials announced the proclamation this week in Frankfort.

The sponsor is the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority, the state agency that administers grants, Kentucky Education Excellence Scholarships, work-study and savings programs.

On hand for the announcement was University of Louisville freshman Garrett Seay. He says College Application Month at Union County High School in Morganfield gave him the encouragement to fill out college applications.

A dedicated College Application Week will be held Nov. 26 through 30 at Anderson County, Breckinridge County, Christian County, Clay County, Henry County, Hickman County, Lawrence County, Lee County, Monroe County, Paris, Louisville Seneca, Louisville Valley and West Carter high schools.
