Paid Insurance Premiums Dropped

By AP

Frankfort, KY – The state of Kentucky will stop paying the federal health insurance premiums for 4,800 Kentuckians on social security
State officials say the people don't qualify for the special Medicaid Assistance program
The state expects to save $5 million a year by removing the people from the program that covers 119,000 others
Those losing the help are presumed to be poor and all over the age of 65 of disabled or both. They're still eligible for the federal medicare insurance they have been getting, but now have to buy it themselves. The state says their premiums will average nearly $89 a month
