Lexington, KY – There's keen interest in the outcome of a vote Thursday in Lexington concerning Kentucky's public and private high school post-season championship sports play.
Proposal 20 would allow the schools to keep playing each other in the regular season but would separate them for championships. Those who favor separation say private schools have dominated the championship playoffs with 17 victories in 31 KHSAA title contests last school year.
The private schools comprise only 17% of the total number of schools.
