Storm Damage Clean-up Underway

By Dan Modlin/AP

Bowling Green, KY – Several parts of Kentucky are recovering from a string
of strong thunderstorms that raced across the Commonwealth
yesterday. The storms brought heavy rain and high winds
that toppled trees and knocked out power.

Daviess County 9-1-1 Director Paul Nave says dozens of
downed trees blocked roads across Davies County
yesterday. A significant portion of the county lost power
as a result of the falling trees.

Logan County received two to three inches of rain during
an afternoon downpour. Warren County was also hit
by heavy rainfall and very powerful winds. Several residential
areas in Bowling Green lost trees in the storm, and
Gary Dillard of Warren Rural Electric says up to three
thousand people lost power in Warren County alone.
By this morning, almost all of those customers had their
power restored, according to Dillard.
