Two Iraqis in Ky charged with terrorism waive right to detention hearing

Iraqi refugees Waad Alwan (left) and Mohanad Hammadi (right) were arrested May 25 in Kentucky for allegedly conspiring to aid al-Qaida. If convicted on all charges, each could face life in prison.

Bowling Green, Ky – The two Iraqi nationals being held on federal terrorism charges are waiving their rights to a detention hearing. Dan Modlin covered activities in federal court in Bowling Green Wednesday morning and has our report.
