Vehicle Fire Leads to Closure of Northbound Natcher Lanes at Mile Point 10

Update at 4:11 p.m.:

All lanes of the Natcher Parkway are now clear following an afternoon vehicle fire at mile point 10.

Update at 3:13 p.m.:

The Northbound lanes of the Natcher Parkway are still blocked due to this vehicle fire. It is anticipated that it will take an additional 1 to 2 hours to re-open the lanes. Northbound traffic is being detoured onto US-231 toward Morgantown in the meanwhile.

Original Post:

Both northbound lanes of the Natcher Parkway are closed near mile point 10, after a garbage truck caught fire on the right shoulder of the parkway. The southbound lanes remain open, but again, both northbound lanes of the Natcher Parkway are closed.

It’s possible that a detour for Northbound traffic will be established that utilizes US 231 from Bowling Green to Morgantown, depending upon closure duration.

Motorists are encouraged to choose other routes for Northbound travel on the Natcher Parkway.
