Madisonville, KY – Hopkins County Commonwealth's Attorney David Massamore says sworn affidavits have been sent to the secretary of state's office handling the extradition of Russell Winstead
He's the 40 year old Western Kentucky man who's been in a Costa Rican jail since last month for the January, 2003 murder of his aunt
Massamore says extradiiton will take four to six months. Winstead was arrested outside of a San Jose casino more than two years after the body of Madisonville businesswoman Ann Branson was discovered in the basement of her home. The 85 year old woman had been stabbed more than 80 times and the back of her head was crushed.
