WKU President Gary Ransdell and Athletic Director Todd Stewart have issued a joint statement Wednesday in response to questions regarding WKU's future athletic conference. Another round of conference realignment kicked off this week when Maryland announced it was leaving the ACC for the Big Ten, and Rutgers said it was leaving the Big East for the Big 10.
And Wednesay afternoon, Louisville announced it's leaving the Big East for the ACC.
Does WKU have a chance--or desire--to move to a different conference? Here's the joint statement issued by Ransdell and Stewart:
“Conference re-alignment is an ongoing and fluid process. We continually monitor and analyze all of the many dynamics and variables involved. We emphasize that, as always, every decision we make will be in the best interests of Western Kentucky University."
