Jan 25, 2013

This audio is an entry in the category of Best Radio Anchor in the 2013 Kentucky Associated Press Broadcasters awards.

This compilation features three live in-studio interviews conducted by WKYU-FM's Joe Corcoran, our local Morning Edition anchor.

The first part of our compilation features an interview with Lauren Moore, a Bowling Green woman who was aboard the cruise ship Costa Concordia when it slammed into the reef off the island of Giglio in January.

The second part of our entry is an interview Joe conducted with Julia Roberts, director of the Gatton Academy of Math and Science at Western Kentucky University. The Gatton Academy had just been named the #1 high school in the nation by Newsweek magazine.

The third and final part of our entry is an interview with Randy Steidle, who had been sentenced to death in Illinois for a crime he didn't commit. Steidle was exonerated, and he know travels the country speaking about his experiences on death row.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this entry!
