ESPN is reporting a former WKU basketball star could be on the move to the Boston Celtics. The network says free agent guard Courtney Lee is expected to sign with the Celtics soon, after averaging 11 points a game last season with the Houston Rockets.
Up until now, college coaches from all sports have been forbidden from sending messages to recruits via text, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites. They’ve also been limited to how many phone calls they make to recruits.
WKU women’s basketball coach Michelle Clark-Heard is making more noise on the recruiting trail. The first-year coach has signed her first commitment for the Class of 2013. Paul Laurence Dunbar High School junior Kierra Muhammad says she’ll play her college ball at WKU.

Alcantara (F, 6-5, 205, Chicago, Ill. [Hales Franciscan HS]), Bradley (F/C, 6-10, 225, Chattanooga, Tenn. [University of Connecticut]) and Rostovs (C, 6-9, 225, Riga, Latvia [Canarias Basketball Academy]) join junior college guard Brandon Harris as newcomers for the Hilltoppers in 2012-13.

The First Four win Tuesday night was a dramatic comeback victory that enabled Ray Harper's team to head to Louisville for tonight's game in the KFC Yum! Center.
The Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers will face Mississippi Valley State Tuesday at 6:30 Eastern time in the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament in Dayton, Ohio. If the Hilltoppers win, they'll take on the University of Kentucky Wildcats in Louisville Thursday.
The WKU mens' basketball team returned home to a raucous crowd at Bowling Green's Carrol Knicely center Wednesday afternoon after completing an improbable run to win the Sun Belt Conference championship Tuesday. More than 300 fans swarmed the team's bus as it pulled in and erupted in cheers as the players got off the bus holding the championship award.
The WKU Hilltopper basketball team battled from behind to win the Sun Belt Conference basketball tournament championship game Tuesday night. Ray Harper's Hilltopper squad used tough defense and determined play on the boards to defeat North Texas by a final score of 74 to 70. The Hilltoppers had to win four games in four days to advance as tournament champions, and win a trip to the NCAA championship.
